Heat Treatment Options

1. Plates 40mm and under in thickness are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition

2. Plates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both

3. Plates over 40mm in thickness shall be normalized

CARBON CONTENT

Generally speaking, there are several types of carbon steel plates: Different types depend on the carbon content, manufacturing method, thickness and application.

According to the carbon content, there are generally low-carbon steel plates, medium-carbon steel plates, high-carbon steel plates and ultra-high-carbon steel plates.

Low carbon: Carbon content 0.06% to 0.25%. Also known as low-carbon board.

Medium carbon: Carbon content 0.25% - 0.6%.

Ultra-high carbon: Carbon content 0.96% to 2.1%.
