2××× series aluminum copper alloy

Features and scope of application:
2XXX series is a typical duraluminium alloy in aluminum-copper-magnesium series, with reasonable composition and good comprehensive properties. This alloy is produced in many countries and is the most widely used of the duralumins. The alloy is characterized by high strength and certain heat resistance, and can be used as working parts below 150°C. At temperatures above 125°C, the strength of 2XXX series alloys is higher than that of 7075 alloys. The forming performance is good in the hot state, annealing and new quenching state, and the strengthening effect of heat treatment is significant, but the heat treatment process is strict. The corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by pure aluminum coating. It is easy to crack when welding, but it can be welded or riveted by special process. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck wheels, propeller components and other structural parts.
2XXX series aluminum copper alloy applications
The 2XXX series aluminum-copper alloys are widely used in aircraft structures due to their high strength and good fatigue strength, especially in areas where the wing and fuselage structures are subjected to tension.

3XXX series aluminum manganese alloy

Features and scope of application:
3XXX series is Al-Mn alloy, which is the most widely used antirust aluminum. The strength of this alloy is not high (slightly higher than that of industrial pure aluminum), and it can not be strengthened by heat treatment. Therefore, cold working method is adopted to improve its mechanical properties: It has high plasticity in the annealing state, good plasticity in the semi-cold hardening, low plasticity in the cold hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability. It is mainly used for demanding high plasticity and good weldability. It is used for low load parts working in liquid or gas medium, such as mailbox, gasoline or lubricating oil conduit, various liquid containers and other small load parts made by deep drawing. 3XXX series aluminum plates are used for rivets with good formability, solubility and corrosion resistance. 5××× series aluminum magnesium alloy

5XXX series is a high magnesium alloy (5A06 (LF6)5A05 (LF5), which has good strength, corrosion resistance and machinability in non-heat treated alloys. The anodized surface is beautiful. Arc welding has good performance. The main alloying element in 5XXX series is magnesium, which has good corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength. The excellent corrosion resistance makes 5XXX series alloy widely used in Marine applications such as ships, and automobile, aircraft welding parts, subway light rail, the need for strict fire pressure vessels (such as liquid tank cars, refrigerated cars, refrigerated containers), refrigeration equipment, television towers, drilling equipment, transportation equipment, missile parts, armor and so on.

6××× series aluminum silicon alloy

Features and scope of application:
6XXX series is a heat treatable strengthening alloy, with good formability, weldability, machinability and good strength, at the same time, after annealing can still maintain a good operability.
The main alloying elements of 6XXX series alloy are magnesium and silicon AlMgSi1Cu, and form Mg2Si phase. If contain a certain amount of manganese and chromium, can neutralize the bad effect of iron; Sometimes a small amount of copper or zinc is added to improve the strength of the alloy without significantly reducing its corrosion resistance; There is also a small amount of copper in the conductive material to offset the adverse effects of titanium and iron on electrical conductivity; Zirconium or titanium can refine the grain size and control the recrystallization structure. Lead and bismuth can be added to improve machinability. Mg2Si is solidly dissolved in aluminum, which makes the alloy have artificial aging and hardening function.
6061-T651 is the main alloy in the 6XXX series of alloys. It is a high-quality aluminum alloy product produced by heat treatment and pre-stretching process. Although its strength is not compared with that of 2XXX series or 7XXX series, its magnesium and silicon alloys have many characteristics. It has excellent processing performance, excellent welding characteristics and electroplating, good corrosion resistance, high toughness and no deformation after processing, dense material without defects and easy polishing, color film is easy, excellent oxidation effect and other excellent characteristics.
6XXX aluminum silicon alloy is widely used grades: 6082, 6063 (LD31), 6061 (LD30), 6A02, etc.

7××× series aluminum silicon alloy
7000 aluminum alloy is another kind of commonly used alloy, there are many varieties. It contains zinc and magnesium. The strongest of the more common aluminum alloys is 7075, but it cannot be welded, and its corrosion resistance is quite poor, as it is used in many CNC machining parts. Zinc is the main alloying element in this series, and the addition of a little magnesium alloy allows the material to be treated by heat to achieve very high strength properties. This series of materials are generally added with a small amount of copper, chromium and other alloys, among which the number of 7075 aluminum alloy is particularly high quality, the highest strength, suitable for aircraft frame and high strength accessories.
7075 belongs to Al-Zn-Mg-Cu superhard aluminum alloy, which has been used in the aircraft industry since the late 1940s and is still widely used in the aviation industry. It is characterized by good plasticity after solid solution treatment, especially good heat treatment strengthening effect, high strength below 150℃, and especially good low temperature strength; Poor welding performance; Stress corrosion cracking tendency; It shall be used by aluminum coating or other protective treatment. The ability of stress corrosion cracking resistance can be improved by two-stage aging. In the annealed and hard-quenched state, the plasticity is slightly lower than that of 2A12 in the same state, slightly better than that of 7A04, the static fatigue of the sheet. Notch sensitive, stress corrosion performance is better than 7A04.
7XXX aluminum zinc alloy is widely used grades: 7075, 7A04(LC4), 7A09(LC9), 7A52, 7A05, etc.
